You drive the ATV between five stops, snorkel a hidden reef, and jump off cliffs into turquoise water.

Snorkeling in Curacao combines ATV driving with five beach stops across the island's northwest coast, where you choose whether to jump cliffs, swim, and explore reefs. You drive a mini Jeep (2–4 people per vehicle) or ride as a passenger, with a live guide leading the route; pickup is included. The activity runs 3 to 4 hours and suits all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries.

ATV Beach Hopping and Snorkeling Tour

  • Stop to watch flamingos
  • Snorkel at Kokomo Beach
  • Relax and explore Mambo Beach
  • Snorkel and dive at Tugboat Beach
  • Visit Punda city and markets

The Experience

You pick up a mini Jeep and either take the wheel or ride along as the guide leads a small group across Curacao's countryside. The route hits five stops in 3 to 4 hours: a flamingo viewing point, Kokomo Beach (a reef for snorkeling), Mambo Beach (where you can grab food and drinks), Tugboat Beach (the standout for underwater life), and Punda, the UNESCO-listed old town with a floating bridge and local market. The driver cannot drink alcohol at any stop, but passengers can. Groups stay under 20 people, split across multiple vehicles with a maximum of four per Jeep.

Snorkeling happens at Kokomo and Tugboat beaches, where the reef sits close to shore. Tugboat is the deeper draw—the operator calls it the most amazing snorkeling spot in the Caribbean for the fish and coral you'll see. Between water time, you can jump off cliffs if you want the adrenaline; if that does not appeal, the guide can add another beach stop instead. Mambo Beach breaks up the day with a chance to eat, shop, or just float in the water before heading to Punda for the final stop.

The tour is shared, so you'll ride with other travelers, though each vehicle stays small. Pickup is included from your hotel or meeting point. Children from age 1 are welcome (infants sit on an adult's lap). Beach admission fees are covered in the price, and the guide speaks English or Spanish. All you need to bring is swimwear and sunscreen; snorkel gear is part of the setup.

What’s included

  • All beach admission fees and taxes.
  • pickup from your hotel or meeting point.

Top questions

What is Tugboat Beach like for snorkeling?

Tugboat Beach is the main snorkeling stop and the operator's top pick for underwater life in the Caribbean—colorful fish, coral reef, and clear water close to shore make it the standout of the day.

Do I have to drive the ATV, or can I ride as a passenger?

You choose: you can drive the mini Jeep yourself or sit as a passenger while someone else drives. The driver cannot drink alcohol at any of the stops, but passengers can.

What happens if I don't want to jump off the cliffs?

Cliff jumping is optional. If you prefer not to jump, the guide can add another beach stop to the route instead, so you still get water time without the height.

Is pickup included, and where does the tour start?

Pickup is included from your hotel or a meeting point you arrange. The guide will confirm the exact location when you book.

How many people ride in each ATV?

Each mini Jeep holds a maximum of 4 people, depending on weight. The full tour group stays under 20 travelers, split across multiple vehicles with a live guide leading the route.

What is there to do at Mambo Beach and Punda?

Mambo Beach has restaurants, bars, and shops where you can grab lunch or a drink and cool off in the water. Punda is the old town with a UNESCO heritage site, a floating bridge, a floating market, and local food stalls and souvenir shops.
