Pula: Sea Kayaking, Cliff Jumping & Snorkeling Small Group
What you actually paddle past: the cliffs, the old military ruins, the jump spots locals know
You paddle a double kayak from Pula's main beach toward limestone cliffs and an old military zone, stop to snorkel in clear water and jump from rocks, and return with photos and the kind of tired that feels good. Transport yourself; the guide handles the route, the equipment, and the local knowledge of where to go.

The Experience
The paddle starts at Valovine beach, where the guide walks you through the basics—how to hold the paddle, how to sit in a double sit-on-top kayak without burning out your shoulders before you've gone a kilometer. Even if you've kayaked before, there's usually something worth hearing: the angle that saves energy, the rhythm that lets you talk without gasping. Then you're on the water, and the beach shrinks behind you. The cliffs rise ahead, pale limestone stacked in layers, and the guide points toward the ex-military zone—the part of Pula's coast most visitors never see because you can't drive there. You paddle under overhangs, along rock faces, past places where the water is so clear you can see the bottom fifteen meters down.
Around halfway through, you pull the kayaks onto a small beach and climb out for thirty to forty-five minutes. This is when the snorkeling happens. You put on the mask and fins, wade in, and the underwater world opens up—fish moving through the shallows, rocks covered in growth, the light bending through the water in ways you don't expect in the Adriatic. Some people jump from the rocks instead, or climb higher and jump from there. The guide has brought seasonal fruits, so you sit on the beach eating grapes or figs, drying off, talking about what you just saw. It's the kind of break that feels earned.
The return paddle follows the coastline back toward Valovine. By then your shoulders know they've worked, but the rhythm is easier. The guide takes photos throughout the day—on the water, underwater, mid-jump—and sends them to you in digital format afterward, so you have proof of the parts that felt too good to be real. The whole thing runs four to five hours depending on conditions and how long people want to linger in the water.
