The experience

The boat leaves Hvar harbor and heads first to Biševo, where sunlight enters through an underwater opening and fills the Blue Cave with shifting blue light. The exact shade depends on the time of day and the angle of the sun. You'll swim and snorkel at a small beach tucked into the island, then move on to Stiniva Cove, a pebble beach ringed by high cliffs that form a narrow natural gateway to the water. The Green Cave on Ravnik comes next. Its bottom is covered in green algae that reflects light from a hole in the cave's ceiling, and you can swim inside it.

Budikovac Island holds a turquoise Blue Lagoon surrounded by three smaller islands: a protected bay with clear water and good snorkeling. The final stop is Palmižana Bay on the Pakleni Islands, a sandy beach where you have free time to eat at one of the local restaurants serving Dalmatian food. The skipper and a hostess stay with the group throughout, adjusting the music and pace to suit the boat. Snorkeling equipment, bottled water and an ice box are on board. There's a shower and toilet if you need them. Groups stay small, no more than 12 people, so you're not packed in with crowds.

Dolphins sometimes appear during the crossing, though there's no guarantee. The speedboat is built for comfort and safety, with secure seating and a skipper trained to find the hidden bays and caves that don't show up in the usual tourist circuits. The tour runs 7.5 hours from start to finish.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What is the Blue Cave actually like when you get there?

The Blue Cave on Biševo is a sea cave lit by sunlight entering through an underwater opening. The light bounces off the water and the cave walls, turning the interior brilliant blue: the exact shade shifts from azure to deep cobalt depending on the time of day and where the sun sits. You see it from the boat and can swim in the water outside the cave entrance.

Can you swim and snorkel at every stop, or do some of them you just look at?

You can swim and snorkel at most stops. The small beach at Biševo, Stiniva Cove, the Green Cave on Ravnik, and Budikovac Island's Blue Lagoon all have water time built in. Palmižana Bay is the final stop where you have free time to rest, eat or swim again if you want to.

Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear?

No. Snorkeling equipment is provided on the boat and included in the tour price. Bottled water and an ice box are also on board.

How does the tour start? Do I need to get to the harbor myself, or is there pickup?

The boat departs from Hvar harbor. If you're staying in Hvar town, the harbor is within walking distance or a short taxi ride. Public transportation options are available nearby if you need them.

What happens if the weather is bad or the sea is rough?

The tour operates in most conditions, but the skipper adjusts the route and pace based on the sea state. If conditions are unsafe, the operator will reschedule or offer an alternative. Check with them directly about their weather policy when you book.

Is lunch included in the price?

Lunch is not included. At Palmižana Bay, the final stop, you have free time to eat at one of the local restaurants serving Dalmatian cuisine. You can also bring your own food if you prefer.
