A 7-hour combo adventure from San Jose that combines ziplining, canyoning and rappelling at waterfalls with a 4x4 safari ride through jungle terrain. The experience

You get picked up from your San Jose hotel and head toward the Tarcoles River, known for its large American crocodiles, before moving into the jungle terrain where the real action starts. The combo packs a lot into one day: two ziplines let you move through the canopy, five waterfall rappels take you down drops up to 150 feet, and a 4x4 ride bounces you through the forest where you might spot toucans, macaws and migratory birds. Between the technical stuff, you swim in natural river pools and walk eco-trails to feel the forest itself.

Canyoning and rappelling sound expert-only, but the guides work with people who've never worn a harness before. You get certified Black Diamond gear and professional instruction throughout the day. Cliff jumping from 12 to 25 feet is optional, so you decide how far you push it. The day wraps with a stop at Jaco Beach to photograph the town's emblematic sign before heading back to San Jose.

This is a full-day commitment, seven hours total, and it demands at least moderate fitness. Wear shoes or strap-on sandals (no flip-flops), bring water and a camera, and pack bug spray. The guide speaks English and Spanish, so language isn't a barrier.
