The experience

The zipline starts with a 15-minute tractor ride up the mountain, then you clip in and descend the canopy on a series of 12 platforms. The 10 cables include one of the longest in Costa Rica's Central Pacific, so you spend real time moving through the rainforest at height instead of dropping fast between two trees. Once you're back on the ground, the horseback section begins: you ride for about 45 minutes through the mountains on well-maintained horses, paired with your mount for the whole stretch.

After the ride, you hike down to the natural swimming pools and get 30 minutes in the water. The guide carries cold water and meets you back at base with fresh tropical fruit.
