Step-by-step itinerary

Zip line, ATV, and optional lunch

  • Tractor ride to mountain top
  • Zip line on 12 platforms and 10 cables
  • Two-hour jungle and river ATV adventure
  • Optional Costa Rican lunch in open air area

The experience

If you've got a free afternoon in Jaco and want to pack three separate adventures into one day, this combo stacks them back-to-back. You begin with the zipline: a 15-minute tractor ride carries you up the mountain, then you clip in and work through 12 platforms connected by 10 cables. One of them ranks among the longest in Costa Rica's Central Pacific, so the views stretch far enough to matter. The rainforest canopy passes beneath you, not a sightseeing tour where you watch from a vehicle, but the thing you're actually moving through.

Once you're back on solid ground, the ATV portion takes over for 2 hours. Trails, mud, jungle, ocean views and rivers all show up in the same ride. Your bilingual guide navigates you through the transitional rainforest just 10 minutes from Jaco Beach and Los Suenos Resort. This is not a manicured loop: the roads stay muddy and the terrain changes constantly. You'll need a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard) for the ATV deposit. The operator holds a minimum of $1,000 on your card for 1 to 5 vehicles, fully refundable, or you can purchase insurance for $25 per ATV instead.

Lunch arrives between the ATV section and the final leg. A traditional Costa Rican casado (rice, beans, salad, fried plantain, vegetables and your choice of meat) comes with natural drink refills, coffee and dessert, served in an open-air area surrounded by the forest. The day closes with horseback riding to private waterfalls on the property. Total time runs 7 to 8 hours. The whole package assumes moderate physical fitness and rules out travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnancy.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English and Spanish.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

How long does the ziplining part actually take?

The zipline section includes a 15-minute tractor ride up the mountain plus the descent itself on 12 platforms and 10 cables. The full combo runs 7 to 8 hours total, with the ATV ride and horseback section filling the rest of the day.

What happens if I've never ridden an ATV before?

Bilingual guides lead the 2-hour ATV adventure through jungle trails, mud and rivers near Jaco, so instruction and navigation are built in. The terrain is real (muddy roads and river crossings included), so you need at least moderate physical fitness, but first-time riders join these tours regularly.

Is the credit card deposit refundable if I do the ATV portion?

Yes. The operator holds a minimum of $1,000 on your Visa or Mastercard for 1 to 5 vehicles as a deposit, and the full amount is refundable. Alternatively, you can purchase non-refundable insurance for $25 per ATV instead of the deposit hold.

Does the price include lunch?

Lunch is available for an additional cost. A traditional Costa Rican casado with rice, beans, salad, fried plantain, vegetables, meat, natural drinks, coffee and dessert is served in an open-air rainforest setting between the ATV and horseback sections.

What's included in the horseback riding at the end?

The horseback riding visits private waterfalls on the property as the final leg of the day. It's included in the package. No separate fee applies.
