The Experience
The day starts with the zipline: you're harnessed and sent across cables strung above the mountain ranges surrounding Liberia, with views of Rincón de la Vieja volcano opening below. The cables include hanging bridges that let you move between lines without touching ground. After the zipline, you ride horseback through transitional forest—the kind of terrain where dry forest meets rainforest—before reaching the water slide: 420 meters long, the longest in Costa Rica, and fed by natural springs.
Between the adrenaline stops, the tour includes cultural time at a working sugar cane and coffee farm where you learn how the crops grow and are processed, taste typical Costa Rican snacks, and take a ceramics class to understand local pottery traditions. The guide explains each stop as you move through it, so you're not just passing through—you're learning why the place matters.
The final hours belong to the hot springs and mud baths. After ten hours of riding, sliding and zipping, you soak in naturally heated water and can coat yourself in warm mud before rinsing off. The air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your Tamarindo hotel, carries you through the day, and brings you back; all equipment for the zipline, horseback riding and water slide is provided, as are lunch, snacks, coffee and tea.
