The guide walks you through the Ming and Qing Dynasty streets lined with shops, arts and handicrafts, then takes you to Tuisi Garden, a UNESCO site with rockeries, ponds and the kind of architecture that makes the town's canal setting feel intentional rather than accidental. You cross the three lucky ring bridge (a detail your guide will explain), and stop for lunch or dinner at a local restaurant (you pay for the meal itself on site).

After Tongli, the driver takes you to Zhouzhuang, a town about 900 years old and known as China's No. 1 water town. CNN ranked it among the top 10 most beautiful small towns in the world. Your guide leads you to the twin bridges, the old residences of Mr. Zhang and Mr. Shen, and through the winding canals and ancient stone architecture that earned it the nickname "Oriental Venice." If you want to see the town from the water, you can book a gondola ride separately at that point. It is not included in the tour price.

The tour ends with a transfer back to your hotel or a drop-off in downtown Suzhou, wherever you prefer. Entrance fees to both towns are included, as is bottled water. Wear comfortable shoes (you will be walking the alleyways), and bring a light jacket if the weather looks uncertain. The tour runs regardless of conditions.
