The experience

How do you see a city's real character after sunset? This tour picks you up from your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and moves through Chengdu's nightlife zones with a guide who knows what each one actually is. Spring Road and Taikooli Shopping Zone come first: the IFS building's giant panda sculpture climbing the wall is a photo landmark, and the illuminated storefronts and cafes show how the district mixes modern architecture with Sichuan design. Your guide explains the area's evolution from its history to current fashion and cultural events.

Tianfu Square is next, the city's symbolic center, where fountains dance to colored lights and music around a central sculpture. Government buildings and museums frame the square with grand lit facades, and locals fly kites or sit in the open space. The guide walks you through the square's significance in Chengdu's layout and its role in the city's modern development. Then you head to Jiuyanqiao Bridge, an ancient structure with nine arches now beautifully lit at night. The real draw is the bar street stretching along the riverbank: neon signs, live music, and restaurants fill the area. Your guide can recommend spots and explain the local bar culture. Any drinks or food there are at your own cost.

The final stop is your choice: Kuanzhai Alley or Jinli Ancient Street. Kuanzhai Alley preserves old Chengdu through three parallel alleys with traditional courtyard houses, wooden doors, tile roofs, and red lanterns. Tea houses serve Sichuan tea with traditional music or storytelling, and restaurants offer authentic Sichuan cuisine. The guide shares stories about local culture and the architecture's significance. Jinli, by contrast, is designed to resemble an ancient Sichuan town with wooden structures, cobblestone streets, and performance areas showing traditional opera or folk dances. Shops sell handicrafts and local snacks. The smell of spicy hot pot and sweets fills the street. Your guide provides cultural and historical context as you walk. After the evening, the guide returns you to your hotel.
