The experience

You'll see giant pandas of all ages eating and playing together, and the research base also displays baby pandas alongside documents showing how they grow from tiny pink animals into 220-pound adults. The base gives you a close look at how these animals live and develop in captivity.
After the pandas, you walk through Kuan Zhai Alley, a street lined with old houses and traditionally styled newer buildings where you'll stop for lunch at a restaurant of your choice. Your guide can recommend places to eat. The afternoon takes you to the Jinsha Site Museum, where you'll see gold, jade and ivory objects dating back 3,000 years, along with everyday items made of stone, pottery, bronze and ivory that show what daily life looked like in ancient times. Your guide walks you through the collection and explains the stories behind the pieces.
