The experience

You're picked up from your Santiago hotel or Airbnb at 7:30 AM and driven into the Maipo Valley countryside. The first stop is Viña La Quirinca, a family farm where you walk through the gardens and production areas, meet the alpacas, llamas and chickens that naturally manage the vineyard's pests, and learn how Chilean wine gets made from the ground up. You'll taste wines and sample pisco in the salon before browsing the farm's local products for purchase.

At midday you head to Labranza Restaurant, where the chef prepares a selection of seasonal dishes in front of you and serves them fresh from the fire. This is where you sit down and eat, not just taste. The restaurant also pours house pisco sours and beer made from pure Andean water. After lunch, a scenic trail through avocado fields leads you to the second vineyard, set beside the Maipo River, where you taste three wines outdoors among the centenary barrel cabins.

The final stop is Undurraga Winery, one of Chile's oldest, with over 130 years of history. You tour the gardens, vineyards, production warehouse, wine barrel cellar and a pre-Columbian exhibition, then taste four premium wines. Drop-off back at your hotel happens around 6:00 to 6:30 PM.
