The Experience
You start by walking into the vineyards to taste grapes directly from the vines—learning to spot the differences in acidity, sweetness, maturity and harvest readiness the way the owners do. This is not a classroom moment; you are holding the fruit and tasting it, which is what makes the differences real instead of theoretical. Then the winery itself opens up: you see the crushing, fermentation, filtering and bottling stages explained as they happen in the space around you, not as a slideshow or a diagram.
The tasting comes last, after you have walked the whole chain. You taste the Encierra Vineyard Reserve, Encierra Carmenere, Rosé and Icono Porel—four wines made from what you just held in your hand. Because the owners run the place themselves, the story does not stop at the bottle; they take you to the family chapel where the vineyard's founder rests, which closes the visit on something deeper than production notes.
The whole experience runs around an hour. Soda, bottled water and the wines are included. A live guide speaks English or Spanish, and the space is wheelchair accessible throughout.
