The experience
The boat departs with a maximum of ten people, keeping the group small enough that you're not jostling for space or competing for the stingrays' attention. You'll cruise into the North Sound, the reef-enclosed lagoon where stingrays congregate in shallow water. The guide walks you through the interaction (how to move slowly, how to let them approach), and you wade in to pet and observe them as they glide past. The water is warm and clear, and the stingrays are accustomed to visitors. This is their territory and you're moving through it on their terms.
After Stingray City, the boat takes you to the coral reef sites (Starfish Point or Rum Point Beach depending on conditions), where the snorkeling shifts from wildlife encounter to reef exploration. You'll see brain coral, schools of tropical fish in tight formation, and if you're lucky, a moray eel or sea turtle. The snorkel gear is provided and fitted before you go in. The life vest keeps you buoyant so you can focus on what's below rather than staying afloat. Between stops, you're back on the boat with a glass of champagne, local beer, fresh juice or water, and snacks: small touches that break up the day and let you recover between swims.
The whole outing runs 2.5 hours from start to finish. You'll need to board a moving boat with some stairs, so bend your knees as you step aboard. The guide will steady you. Bring a towel, sunscreen, swimwear and water shoes, plus your ID. The boat operates daily except Sundays, Good Friday, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Is this one for you?Book this if you want to interact with stingrays up close in their natural habitat combined with reef snorkeling in one outing. The small group size, maximum ten people, means you're not competing for space or the stingrays' attention, and the 2.5-hour duration fits easily into a half-day schedule without eating the whole day.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What's it like to interact with the stingrays at Stingray City?
Stingray City is a shallow sandbar in the North Sound where stingrays gather naturally. You wade into 8–15 feet of water and the guide shows you how to move slowly so the stingrays approach you. You can pet them as they glide past. They're used to visitors and move through the water calmly, making the encounter feel less like a show and more like being in their space.
Will I see other sea life besides stingrays?
Yes. The coral reef stops (Starfish Point and Rum Point Beach) are where the snorkeling focuses on reef life. Tropical fish are common, and the guide watches for turtles and moray eels, which appear regularly but are not guaranteed on every trip.
Is the snorkel gear provided, or do I need to bring my own?
Snorkel gear is included and provided by the boat. The guide will fit it before you enter the water so it's comfortable and watertight.
How deep is the water where we snorkel?
The North Sound ranges from 8 to 15 feet deep. You'll be snorkeling in that depth range, which is shallow enough to see the bottom and the reef structure clearly, and the life vest keeps you floating at the surface.
What happens if the weather is rough or conditions aren't safe?
The boat operates in the North Sound, which is a protected lagoon enclosed by reef, so it's calmer than open ocean. The guide and captain monitor conditions throughout the morning and adjust stops if needed, but the lagoon itself is designed to be sheltered.
