You start at the Historic Sylvia Hotel across from English Bay Beach, steps from the A-maze-ing Laughter Sculptures. The route passes Lost Lagoon—a 16.6-hectare artificial body of water with a fountain, birds, turtles and wildlife—before you reach Coal Harbour and its views of the North Shore mountains and Burrard Inlet.

The main event is the Stanley Park loop itself. You follow the seawall on your own schedule, using the map and audio recordings to find landmarks. A stop at the totem poles lets you photograph them and learn their meaning. Further along, Brockton Point lighthouse opens up views of the Lions Gate Bridge and the North Shore. On the home stretch you pass Lumberman's Arch, the Girl in Wetsuit statue, Third Beach and Second Beach before returning to English Bay.
