The glass elevator takes 40 seconds to climb 168 meters to the observation deck, and when the doors open, you're standing inside a 360-degree view that doesn't quit — Stanley Park spreading out like a green wedge to the west, the North Shore Mountains rising sharp and close enough to feel real, Gastown's brick and cobblestone laid out below like a map someone drew by hand, and the downtown core climbing up behind it all. On a clear day the Olympic Peninsula shows up too, sitting across the water in Washington State. The deck has been part of Vancouver's skyline since 1977, and it still works.

You get one-time access to the deck with no time limit, which means you can stay as long as you want — some people spend twenty minutes, others camp out for an hour with a coffee and a pair of binoculars.
