The game sends you past a seven-foot bronze angel statue that has stood at the CPR station since 1921, through the heart of Gastown's restaurants and shops, and to landmarks like the Flatiron building and Gaoler's Mews—the site of Vancouver's first jail. You'll walk roughly 2 to 2.5 kilometres over the two hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring reading glasses if you need them.

There's no app to download and no wifi required—you're too busy exploring to look at your phone, though you'll want to take photos at the famous spots your team passes. Each team receives a detective kit with everything needed to play, and the game operates in all weather, so dress for the conditions.
