The tubing itself is the core of the day: you're floating, not paddling, so the river does the work. The caves wind and open into chambers, and the headlamp reveals crystal formations on the walls and ceiling. The whole float takes several hours, broken only by the pace of the current and the stops the guide makes to talk about what you're seeing. After you exit the caves and come back to solid ground, lunch waits: rice and beans with stewed chicken, plus a drink, eaten in the jungle setting where you started.

Transportation picks you up from Burns Avenue or anywhere in San Ignacio town limits and brings you back the same way.
