Step-by-step itinerary

Explore nature and culture in Quba region

  • Stop at Mount Beshbarmag for photos
  • Visit Candy Cane Mountain landscape
  • Pass through Guba city
  • Explore Quba Forest and Jewish Red Village
  • Drive along Gudyalchay River canyon road
  • Watch eagles at Eagle Mountain
  • Visit ancient Khinalig village

The experience

The tour covers roughly 12 hours of driving and stops, moving through landscapes that shift from the colorful striped hills of Candy Cane Mountain to dense forest and canyon roads. You'll stop at Mount Beshbarmag, a Bronze and Iron Age site ringed by historical settlements, for photos and a break. The Quba Forest section opens views of the Gudyalchay River and the Red settlement below: a place where people of Jewish origin built their community. Eagle Mountain is where you pause to watch the birds soar.

Khinalig itself sits at the end of the route, a village that survived five millennia of isolation. The tall mountains and rocky cliffs that cut it off from the rest of the world also preserved something rare: a language with no connection to any other language family, plus customs and traditions found nowhere else. The reserve entry is included, and you'll have time to walk through the settlement and see how that isolation shaped the place.

The vehicle is air-conditioned and seats your group for the full day. A professional guide travels with you and speaks English, Russian, or Turkish. Lunch is a full homemade meal, not a quick stop: built into the schedule so you eat without rushing. Pickup and drop-off from your Baku hotel are part of the booking.

  • entry to the State Historical, Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve Khinalig.
