The tour leaves Baku heading south toward the Great Caucasus ridge, passing Shamakhi city and stopping at the oldest mosque in Azerbaijan before reaching Ismayilli. The real draw here is the iron suspension bridge that crosses the Girdmanchay river. You walk it yourself, not just look at it from a distance. From there the road climbs into the foothills toward Lahij, a village built into the mountainside at over 2,000 meters above sea level.

Lahij is built around copper work and traditional handicrafts.
