The Experience

The first thing I noticed was the smell — that sharp, cold mountain air right before we ran off the edge. My hands were sweating inside the borrowed gloves (they had gear for us, which helped), and our pilot, Markus, just grinned like he’d done this a thousand times. Maybe he has. He pointed out Neustift below as we floated up — honestly, it looked more like a postcard than a real place from up there.
