The experience

You start at the Elferliften information booth in Neustift im Stubaital and ride the cable car up to the launch point on the mountain. The pilot answers questions during the ride and gives you a full safety briefing once you reach the top. You'll wear a helmet, seat belt and tested safety equipment. A rental jacket is available if you need one. The operation has been flying since 1989 and has completed over 25,000 tandem flights, so the setup is routine and the gear is reliable.

The flight itself lasts about 10 minutes. You take off smoothly from the mountain, feel the view of the Stubai Valley open below you, and experience the adrenaline of flying while the pilot handles the controls. The landing is relaxed, touching down in a wide meadow. After you land, you receive an individual flight diploma and a video of your flight to take home.

The cable car ticket (10.60 euros) is not included in the price, so budget for that when you book. Public transportation reaches the meeting point, and the site is wheelchair accessible with accessible surfaces throughout. Infants and small children can come along in a pram or stroller, and specialized infant seats are available if needed.
