The experience

The experience starts with a short, easy hike of about 100 meters elevation gain above the mountain station in Neustift. You and your certified tandem pilot walk together to a quiet, exclusive launch site: far from the usual paragliding spots. After a safety briefing, you're ready for takeoff. The flight itself is smooth, giving you unobstructed views of the Stubai Valley's green slopes, the Tyrolean Alps, and the dramatic ridge lines that frame Innsbruck from above.

The operator has been flying tandem since 1989 and equips every flight with carefully tested safety gear: helmet, seat belt, and a rental jacket if you need one. Your pilot handles all the flying. You experience the sensation of flight and the landscape. After you land, you get a flight diploma and a video of your flight to take home.

The hike-and-fly format makes this different from standard paragliding launches. The walk to the take-off point is short and accessible to anyone without mountaineering experience, but it puts you in a less crowded part of the valley. The whole experience runs about 90 minutes from start to finish. Your guide speaks English, Italian, or German, and children from age 4 are welcome. The mountain railway lift ticket (roughly 17 euros) is separate from the paragliding cost.
