The Experience

You meet your crew at Cairns Marlin Marina on Finger B and board a fast vessel bound for the reef. The boat carries a small group—not a crowd—which means the guide can watch the water and adjust the plan as conditions change. Once you arrive at the first site, you put on the stinger suit and snorkel gear (all provided), clip on a flotation device if you want one, and slip into the water with the guide. The reef is not a museum; what you see depends on the day, the light, the season and where the fish are moving.

You snorkel at two locations, both chosen by the skipper that morning for the best experience. Between sites, you stay on the boat, dry off and eat lunch and snacks. Drinks are available to purchase. The whole day runs seven hours from check-in to return, which gives you real time in the water without the rush of a half-day trip or the fatigue of a full day.

All essential snorkelling equipment is included—mask, fins, snorkel, stinger suit and flotation devices—so you pack nothing but a towel and sunscreen. A live guide in English stays with the group throughout. If you want a prescription mask or a wetsuit to hire, those are available at checkout. GoPro photos taken during the snorkel are free; you can request them after the trip.
