The Experience
Each trip runs as a full day with other travelers, so costs stay low because you pay only for your seat. The guide is licensed and specialized in these routes, speaking English throughout. You travel in an air-conditioned vehicle, which matters on the longer stretches between regions — the trip to Prizren crosses into Kosovo, the Vlora route follows the coast, and the Shkoder run heads north toward the mountains and Lake Shkodra.
The five trips cover different ground. Ohrid takes you to the UNESCO old town and lakeside promenade in North Macedonia, then to the Monastery of St. Naum on a hilltop overlooking the water. Prizren shows you the old bazaar, the Mosque of Sinan Pasha, and both Christian and Catholic churches set against northern mountain views. The Vlora day includes the Gulf of Vlora (the Albanian Riviera), the Muradie Mosque, Kanina Castle — one of the most important in Albanian history — and a walk through Karavasta National Park, where you can opt for a boat tour to watch flamingos. Shkoder brings you to Rozafa Fortress for views over the city and lake, the Austro-Italian architecture of Gjuhadol promenade, and Krujë Castle with two museums: one showing Ottoman-era domestic life in an 18th-century pasha's house, the other dedicated to Skanderbeg, Albania's national hero. The old bazaar at Krujë sells hand-crafted rugs, traditional clothing and filigree work. Berat, a UNESCO site built from the 4th century BC, has two neighborhoods — Mangalem and Gorica — connected by narrow streets; the day ends in Roshnik Village at a local winery for wine tasting and lunch.
You book individual trips as you choose them, joining shared groups of like-minded travelers. The guide handles the route and timing; you decide which days suit your schedule. Public transportation options exist nearby if you prefer to arrange your own arrival, and the vehicle can accommodate specialized infant seats.
