The experience
You start the day with pickup from your hotel, then drive upstream along the Zambezi to the launch point. Once on the water, the raft drifts gently downstream toward Livingstone, letting you take in the river's landscapes without the intensity of whitewater paddling. The slow pace works in your favor: animals that might flee from a faster boat linger along the banks, and your guide points out crocodiles, hippos and other wildlife as they appear. Soft drinks and water keep you hydrated throughout.
The journey ends as you approach Livingstone, where you're dropped back at your hotel. Lunch and all refreshments are provided onboard, so you're not stopping elsewhere or managing a separate meal. The whole experience runs three to five hours depending on water conditions and wildlife sightings, leaving your afternoon or evening free.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What animals can I expect to see on the Upper Zambezi float?
Crocodiles and hippos are the main wildlife your guide will help you spot along the riverbanks. The tranquil pace of the float gives you a better chance of observing them in their natural habitat than you'd have on a faster boat.
Is the raft float suitable if I've never done water activities before?
Yes. The Upper Zambezi Raft Float is designed as a relaxed, gentle experience, not whitewater rafting. You need at least moderate physical fitness, but no paddling or prior experience is required. You simply float and observe.
