The experience

The tour opens at Victoria Falls International Airport, where you're picked up and taken to your hotel for a sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. The next day you explore Victoria Falls itself, one of the Seven Natural Wonders, then watch a vulture feeding ritual and eat lunch at Makuwakuwa Restaurant at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. That evening, a traditional African dinner at The Boma closes out the falls section before you move on.

Chobe National Park takes three full days. You drive out for morning and early-morning game drives to spot wildlife in their habitat, then cruise the Chobe River in the afternoons watching hippos, crocodiles and birds. Between drives you eat at Cresta Mowana. On the third Chobe day, you tour the Kazungula Bridge and a nearby village before another river cruise at sunset. You stay at Travelodge Kasane the whole time.

A flight from Kasane to Maun puts you in the Okavango Delta for the final stretch. You spend a full day on a mokoro ride through the wetlands, walk a safari on foot, and eat lunch surrounded by the delta. The tour ends with breakfast at your hotel in Maun and departure via Maun International Airport on day eight.

What is the Okavango Delta mokoro ride like?

A mokoro is a traditional flat-bottomed canoe poled through shallow water and channels in the delta wetlands. You paddle past papyrus, spot water birds and occasional wildlife from the boat, and walk on foot during the day trip, with lunch served in the delta itself.

How much wildlife will I see on the Chobe game drives?

Chobe National Park is known for large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birds. The early-morning and late-afternoon drives are timed to catch animals at their most active, and the river cruises add another vantage point for spotting them.

Do I need to arrange my own transport between the cities?

No. Hotel pickup is included from Victoria Falls airport, and a flight from Kasane to Maun on day six is part of the tour. You move between hotels and sites with the group and guide throughout.
