The experience
The Ngoc Hien Pearl Farm is the anchor of this tour: Vietnam's largest pearl workshop, operating since 1994 with Japanese culture technology. You'll watch technicians at work and see finished pearl jewelry before moving on. The farm sits in the south, so the tour builds outward from there: next is the cable car, a three-stage aerial system that holds the record for longest continuous span in the world, connecting An Thoi Town to Hon Thom Island. The cable car ticket costs extra (roughly $35 for adults, $17 for children under 1.4 meters), but the ride itself is the visual centerpiece of the day.
Khem Beach comes next: white sand, calm water, and ranked 43rd among the world's most beautiful beaches by a Canadian travel company in 2018. You have time to walk and swim if you want. Then the tour turns to history: the Coconut Prison (also called Phu Quoc Prisoner of War Prison) held over 32,000 prisoners during the Indochina War and now stands as a memorial. Ho Quoc Pagoda, the island's largest Buddhist temple, closes out the stops with views and stories tied to the site's spiritual role. If the season is right, Tranh stream and waterfall may be added.
Your guide speaks English and Vietnamese, travels with you in an air-conditioned car, and carries knowledge of each site. The vehicle includes WiFi and complimentary water. Pickup is included. You'll be collected from your hotel. Children from age 7 onward are welcome, and the tour is wheelchair accessible throughout. Lunch is not part of the package, so plan a meal break or eat before departure.
