The experience
The drive from Ho Chi Minh City takes about two hours, arriving in My Tho by 10am. From there you board a motorboat to visit Dragon Island, Phoenix Island, and Turtle Island, then stop at Unicorn Island to walk through a natural beekeeping farm and taste honey wine, rice wine, and banana wine. The motorboat continues through the rural waterways, and you switch to a small sampan to row along the coconut canals under the green canopy of water coconut trees. This is where you see how local families live and work on the water.
The tour crosses into Ben Tre province to visit a handmade coconut candy workshop, then moves to a local Vietnamese restaurant for lunch set menu and fresh tropical fruits from an orchard garden. A traditional music performance happens while you eat. The return journey follows the same route by motorboat back to My Tho, then a bus ride back to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving around 4:30–5:00pm. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, as well as travel insurance.
