The Experience

The day starts at Marble Mountains, where you stop to explore the site before the road turns toward the coast. From there the route climbs into the Hai Van Pass, part of the Annamite Mountain Range and recently praised by BBC Top Gear as one of the world's most beautiful stretches. At 500 meters high, the pass earns its name—"Pass of the Ocean Clouds"—and the ride up gives you views across the coastline. You'll stop to see the old French and American war-era lookout turrets that still stand at the summit, and pause for a drink while the road settles.

After descending the pass, you ride through a fishing village along the coast before heading inland to Suoi Mo waterfall. This is where you can swim and take pictures in the pool below the falls. Lunch happens before the waterfall—you pick seafood, grilled chicken or vegetarian food—and then the route turns back through the countryside toward Hoi An, completing the loop by late afternoon.

You control how you ride: sit as a passenger on the motorbike, or take the automatic bike yourself if you have a valid license and want to handle it.
