The experience
The day starts with pickup at your hotel between 7:30 and 8:00 AM, then moves through Ho Chi Minh City's main landmarks: Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the War Remnants Museum, the Opera House, City Hall at Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, the Jade Emperor Pagoda, and the Reunification Palace. The guide walks you through the city's French colonial past and its modern identity, stopping for photographs and explanation at each site. This part of the tour sets the context for what comes next.
After lunch with Vietnamese and Asian food, you travel over an hour to the Cu Chi Tunnels at Ben Duoc. The afternoon is spent underground: you watch a short documentary, then crawl through the tunnel system itself, exploring the fighting bunkers, meeting bunkers, water wells, and the Hoang Cam kitchen. The tunnels show how the system functioned during the war. You'll hunt for secret entrances, wooden doors, and booby traps built into the passages. A tasting of tapioca with salted sesame and sugar, served with hot pandan leaf tea, happens at ground level between the tunnel sections.
The shooting range sits at the end of the tunnel visit. You get a chance to fire an M-16, an AK-47, and a carbine rifle in a controlled setting. The tour finishes with a return to your hotel. Note that the operator may reverse the order (visiting the tunnels first and the city second) without advance notice, so the day's structure can shift depending on logistics and group flow.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 11 years); Infant (under 5): free.
What exactly is inside the Cu Chi Tunnels that I'll actually see?
The Cu Chi Tunnels are a network of passages dug during the Vietnam War, and you walk and crawl through sections of them. You'll see fighting bunkers where soldiers took positions, meeting bunkers for gathering, a water well, the Hoang Cam kitchen used for cooking underground, and the traps and secret doors built into the tunnel walls. A short film explains the history before you enter.
Is the rifle shooting real, or is it a simulation?
The shooting range at Cu Chi lets you fire actual rifles: an M-16, an AK-47, and a carbine. It's a live-fire experience, not a simulation, set up as a controlled activity within the tunnel site.
What's included in the price, and what costs extra?
Hotel pickup and drop-off, all entrance fees for the city and tunnel sites, lunch, cool tissues, mineral water, and an English-speaking guide are included. Tips and gratuities for the guide are not included and are left to your choice.
How long does the drive to Cu Chi Tunnels take from Ho Chi Minh City?
The travel time from the city to the Cu Chi Tunnels at Ben Duoc is over one hour. This happens after lunch, so the afternoon portion of the day is devoted to the tunnel site and the shooting range.
Can I book this as a private tour instead of a group?
Yes, the tour is available as either a private tour or a shared group limited to ten travelers maximum. You choose which option at checkout.
