The Experience
The loop starts in Ha Giang City with a briefing at the hostel before you head out on your motorbike. You'll ride to Quan Ba for lunch and gas, then hike up to the Lung Khuy Cave—one of the largest spiritual caves on the rocky plateau—before continuing to Yen Minh for the night, where you'll eat traditional minority food and drink "Happy Water" with locals.
Day two takes you to the H'mong King Palace to see how the region's kings once lived, then up to the Lung Cu Flag Tower, which sits right at the Vietnamese border with China. After lunch in the Dong Van Old Quarter, you'll ride along the valley to the Sky Walk, a 1–2 km hike with views across the plateau. The real test comes next: the Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the most dangerous stretches in Vietnam, which you'll conquer on the way to Meo Vac for your second night.
On the final day, you'll ride to the river harbor and take a small boat down the Nho Que River—bring a swimsuit—before heading back through Quan Ba and returning to Ha Giang City by early evening. The tour includes a local English-speaking guide throughout; you can choose to ride your own motorbike (18+ with an international driving permit) or sit as a passenger on an Easy-Rider's bike. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals are available on request.
