The experience
The day starts with a meet-and-greet at the longhouse, where your Ede host introduces you to village life and customs. A short walk or tractor ride takes you around the settlement so you see how people live day to day, then you head to a local garden or farm plot where the real work begins: you harvest the fresh herbs, vegetables and seasonal ingredients that will become your meal. Your host explains what grows where and why, and you learn how the Ede have farmed this land for generations.
Back at the longhouse, you move into the kitchen to cook. Using what you just picked, you prepare an authentic Ede dinner under your host's guidance. This is not a demonstration. You handle the food, the fire and the techniques. When the meal is ready, you sit down together to eat, share stories and experience the hospitality that defines village life in the Central Highlands. The whole experience runs three hours from start to finish.
An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your Buon Ma Thuot hotel and brings you back afterward. Your guide speaks English and Vietnamese, so language is not a barrier. The experience is suitable for all fitness levels, though it is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnancy.
