The experience

The tour starts with pickup outside the port gate. You'll walk about ten minutes from the ship or take the free green shuttle bus to meet your driver and guide. The transfer to Ba Na Hills takes roughly an hour, and your guide briefs you on what's ahead. Once there, you board the modern cable car, the longest of its kind in the region, which carries you up the mountain in a single span.

At the top, the Golden Bridge is the centerpiece: a walkway held aloft by two enormous stone hands emerging from the mountainside. From there, a climbing train takes you higher to explore the flower gardens, the Debay Wine Cellar carved into the rock, and Linh Ung Pagoda. Your guide explains the symbolism of the French colonial buildings and the history of the settlement. A second cable car descent brings you to the French Village, where you can watch street performances, try the 3D and 5D cinemas, or play indoor and outdoor games if time allows.

Lunch is a buffet served at one of the restaurants on-site, included in the tour price. After eating, you take the cable car back down and begin the drive to the port.
