Bridges of Eden Guided Tour & River Swimming: Half Day
Two swimming holes, one afternoon: Blue Lagoon and Eden's cascade
You get picked up from your hotel, swim at Blue Lagoon for an hour, then move to Eden on the River for another hour in the cascade pools, with a local guide handling the route and timing. The whole trip runs about four hours, and you're back before lunch. No transport to arrange, no guessing which spots are safe or worth the drive.

The Experience
The guide was running five minutes late, which turned out to be the best thing that happened all morning. While we waited in the hotel lobby, another traveler mentioned she'd tried to find these spots on her own the day before and gotten lost on a road that wasn't really a road. That's when it clicked why having someone who actually knows Efate matters. When he arrived, our guide had the route mapped out—Blue Lagoon first, then Eden on the River—and the timing was tight enough that we'd hit both places when the light was good and the crowds were thin.
Blue Lagoon sits about an hour into the drive, and you get the full hour there to swim in water so clear you can see the bottom from the edge. The color isn't exaggerated in photos; it's genuinely that shade of blue-green that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. After that, we moved on to Eden on the River, which is set back into the tree canopy along a small cascade. The water here is cooler and darker—emerald green like the description said—and there's a natural pool right at the base where you can jump in or wade depending on how you feel. The guide pointed out the rock formations and told us which spots were safest for jumping, which saved the usual trial-and-error.
The half-day structure means you're back by early afternoon, which leaves the rest of your day open. Hotel pickup is included, so you don't need to arrange transport or figure out where to meet anyone. The guide handles the route, the timing, and knows which swimming holes are worth the drive on any given day—which, if you're only in Port Vila for a few days, is the whole point.
What’s included
Your half-day includes hotel or port pickup in an air-conditioned vehicle, a local guide for the full trip, and access to both Blue Lagoon and Eden on the River. You spend one hour at each swimming hole, with the guide managing the route and timing so you see both in one morning or afternoon.
