The experience
You meet at the boat 30 minutes before the departure time. The ride out to the Coral Reef takes 40 minutes, the reef sits 6 miles offshore, and the boat has a swim platform at the back that makes getting in and out of the water straightforward. A live guide in English leads the activity.
The snorkel itself breaks into two separate 1-hour dives, so you're in the water for roughly two hours across the whole trip. Mask, snorkel, fins and a snorkel safety vest come with the booking. You don't bring your own gear. The reef is where turtles, eagle rays, moray eels and hundreds of smaller reef fish move through their day. You watch them in their space rather than being herded through a crowded site.
