The Experience
What makes this tour different is that your guide builds the day around what you actually want to taste. You're not locked into a fixed itinerary—if you'd rather skip a stop or spend longer at a vineyard, the private format and five-hour window let that happen. The tour covers the Verde Valley wine trail and includes stops at places like Alcantara Vineyard (where you can see the barrel room and learn how wine gets made), Oak Creek Vineyard, DA Ranch Vineyard, and a local brewery if micro-brews are your thing. Each tasting is a flight you choose, not one handed to you.
Lunch is built into the tour, most often at Merkin Osteria, where you pick a pasta dish, salad, or appetizer and pair it with a wine flight of three local wines. If you'd rather have beer with lunch, your guide can arrange that at Belfry Brewery or another spot that fits your mood. Along the way you stop at an artisan chocolate shop—ChocolaTree, Living Chocolate, or Synergy Sedona depending on the day—and get $11 to spend on hand-made, organic chocolates that pair with whatever you're tasting. Bottled water is included throughout.
Private transportation picks you up from your hotel or a meeting point and handles all the driving, so you can taste without worrying about the road. Your guide is there to explain the wines and beers, help you understand what you're tasting, and make sure the day moves at a pace that feels right. The minimum age is 21, and the tour runs about five hours start to finish.

Can I choose between wine and beer tastings, or do I have to do both?
Your guide curates the tour to your preference. If you want only wine, only beer, or a mix of both, the stops and tastings adjust accordingly. Each flight you taste is one you choose based on what appeals to you.
What's included in the lunch, and can I pick where we eat?
Lunch includes your choice of one pasta dish, salad, or appetizer, plus a wine flight of three wines to pair with it. The tour most often goes to Merkin Osteria, but your guide can arrange lunch at a local vineyard, tasting room, or brewery depending on your interests and the day's timing.
Do I get to keep the wine glasses from the tastings?
One stop, DA Ranch Vineyard, includes a souvenir wine glass subject to their availability. The other tastings are flights you enjoy on-site, and the glasses stay at the tasting rooms.
What happens if I want to taste more than the four included flights?
Additional wine or beer flights beyond the four included are available for purchase at each stop. Your guide can order them for you, and you pay at the venue.
Is this tour walkable, or will I be sitting most of the time?
Most of the tour is at tasting rooms and vineyards where you stand and taste at a bar or table. At Alcantara Vineyard, a walking tour of the property is available if you want to see the chapel, the Verde River, and the barrel room, but it's optional and depends on staff availability.
What's the chocolate stop like, and how much do I get?
You visit one of three local chocolate shops—ChocolaTree, Living Chocolate, or Synergy Sedona—where all the chocolate is hand-made, organic, and made with alternatives to cane sugar. The tour includes $11 per person to spend on whatever catches your eye.
