The experience

The bus holds up to 20 people comfortably, but this tour caps at 16 so your group stays together without strangers. Hotel pickup means no meeting point hunt or early arrival at a central location. The driver arrives at your accommodation and you board from there. A knowledgeable driver handles the road while a second guide on the bus answers questions, points out details and helps shape the day around what your family or group actually wants to see.

The route moves through Tunnel View first, where the valley opens in front of you as you emerge from the tunnel. From there you walk a thousand feet to Bridalveil Fall, then stop for views of Half Dome reflected in the Merced River. Lunch happens near Yosemite Falls. You choose turkey, vegetarian or a dagwood sandwich, and there is time to walk to the water or buy souvenirs. The tour includes a look at El Capitan's granite face and the climbers on its routes. Glacier Point, one of the park's most celebrated viewpoints, rounds out the day when the road is open (usually late spring through fall). If weather or construction closes it, your guide will show you alternative sites instead.

Bottled water and a sports bottle to refill at the park are included. National Park entrance fees apply for international visitors and are collected on the day of the tour, not at booking. The whole tour runs eight hours from pickup to drop-off.

Top questions

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What is Glacier Point and when can we actually visit it?

Glacier Point is one of the most celebrated viewpoints in Yosemite National Park, offering views that rank among the best in the world. The road to Glacier Point is usually closed from November through April during winter, so the stop is available from late spring through fall when conditions permit.

Can we customize which stops we see, or is the route fixed?

The tour is private, so you can decide the schedule and which attractions matter most to your group. Let your guide know your interests when you book and they will shape the day around them.

What happens if weather or construction closes one of the main stops?

Any of the tour highlights may close due to weather or construction. Your guide will do their best to show you alternative sites instead so the day still delivers the park's best views.

Do we need to arrange our own car seats for children, or are they provided?

Parents with small children must provide car seats or booster seats if necessary. Children between 1 and 8 years old (or heavier than 20 pounds) must ride in the back seat strapped into a rear-facing or front-facing car seat with a five-point harness, or a booster seat depending on their height and weight.

Is the entrance fee to Yosemite included in the tour price?

National Park entrance fees may apply for international visitors and are collected on the day of the tour, not at the time of booking. U.S. residents typically do not pay an additional entrance fee.
