The experience
You arrive for up to an hour of check-in and safety briefing, then split your remaining time between riding and shooting. The UTV takes you out into the Sonoran Desert on established trails. You're at the controls the whole way, not watching from a passenger seat. The terrain is what makes this work: real desert riding, not a loop around a parking lot. After the ride, you move to the private range where an NRA-certified instructor walks you through the Glock 17 and AR-15, handling the setup and safety protocols so you can focus on the mechanics of each weapon.
The combo format means you're not choosing between two separate activities. You're doing both in a single morning, which is why early booking matters: the operator notes that cooler temperatures and smaller group sizes happen earlier in the day. Max 4 people per vehicle, and you book per vehicle, so if your group is larger you'll need to create separate bookings. Helmets, goggles, face masks, ear plugs and eye protection are provided. Glock 9mm and AR-15 are included. Other firearms are available for an upgrade fee if you want to try something different.
Wear closed-toe shoes and avoid skirts or dresses: the UTV riding and range work both demand practical clothing. A signed waiver is required before you start. All minors must have a parent present, and everyone must speak and understand English for the instructor's safety briefing to work.

What's the difference between the 2-seater, 3-seater and 4-seater UTV options?
The Ride & Shoot Combo is available in 2-seater, 3-seater and 4-seater UTVs. You choose which fits your group size at checkout. All versions include the same riding trails, shooting instruction and firearms, so the difference is how many people ride in one vehicle and how the group splits across bookings if you're larger than four.
How much time do I actually spend riding versus shooting?
The total time is up to 4 hours, with up to 1 hour for check-in and safety briefing, then up to 3 hours split between UTV riding and shooting range work. The exact split depends on how the instructor structures the day and how your group progresses, but both activities happen in the same session.
What firearms do I get to shoot?
The Glock 17 and AR-15 are included in the combo. Other firearms are available on-site for an additional fee if you want to upgrade and try a different weapon during your range time.
Is this activity suitable if I have a back or joint injury?
The operator does not recommend this activity for travelers with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health because of the physical demands of UTV riding and the standing required at the shooting range. Do I need any experience to ride a UTV or shoot firearms?
No prior experience is required. The NRA-certified instructor covers firearms safety and technique from the start, and the UTV trails are navigable for riders of all physical fitness levels. The instructor will brief you on vehicle operation before you head out.
What happens if my group is more than 4 people?
Max capacity is 4 people per vehicle. If your group is larger, you'll need to create multiple bookings: one for each vehicle. Each booking is independent, so you can coordinate timing with the operator to keep groups together for the day.
