Desert trails and live firearms: two skills in one morning

ATV riding and shooting activity in the Sonoran Desert with an NRA-Certified Instructor, Glock 9mm and AR-15 included. You ride single-passenger ATVs through desert trails for up to 3 hours, then shoot at a private range. Total time is up to 4 hours with check-in. Minimum age 18 with valid ID. Early morning departures run cooler and smaller.

The experience

You arrive for check-in and get fitted with safety gear (helmet, goggles, face mask, ear plugs and eye protection) before heading out on a single-passenger ATV into the Sonoran Desert. The trails wind through the landscape at a pace that lets you handle the machine and take in the terrain. An NRA-Certified Instructor and professional guide stay with the group throughout. Bottled water is provided, and the whole ride portion runs up to 3 hours depending on the group and conditions.

After the trails, you move to the private shooting range where the real instruction begins. The NRA-Certified Instructor walks you through both the Glock 17 and AR-15 (how they work, how to hold them, how to aim and fire safely), and you shoot at targets under their eye. Other firearms are available on-site if you want to upgrade beyond what's included. This is not a quick trigger-pull. It's hands-on training from someone certified to teach it. The whole experience, from arrival to finish, takes up to 4 hours.

Bring a valid ID and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants: no skirts or dresses. You'll sign a waiver before you start. Tours run in English, and the operator recommends early morning slots: the desert is cooler then and the groups stay small.
