The Experience
First thing you notice is the breeze—warm, but with a salty edge from the coast. We checked in about half an hour before our slot, just enough time to watch a group ahead of us laughing nervously as they strapped into their harnesses. The guides here are easy to talk to, cracking jokes but double-checking every strap and buckle. You can see the whole course from below: ropes, swinging planks, and these wobbly bridges that look simple until you’re up there.
I’m not a fan of heights, honestly. But once you’re clipped in, it’s weirdly reassuring—like, you know you’re safe. The first step off the platform is the hardest. My hands were sweaty, and I could smell sunscreen mixed with the faint scent of plumeria from somewhere nearby. Our guide, Kai, pointed out the best way to balance on the narrow beams (“look ahead, not down!”). There are 18 different obstacles—some had me crawling, others swinging Tarzan-style. Somewhere around the third element, I realized I was actually having fun, not just surviving it. If you pause for a second, you’ll hear birds and sometimes the distant hum of traffic from Farrington Highway. By the end, my legs were shaky but I felt like I’d done something big.
