A hands-on dumpling-making class in Pennsylvania where you learn to prepare authentic Chinese dumplings from a home cook who grew up making them in China. The class covers filling recipes, cutting and chopping techniques, and includes coffee or tea. You take home what you make.

The experience

The class runs about two and a half hours in a home kitchen where you get an apron, cutting board and knife and work through the whole process yourself. The instructor walks you through the key ingredients that go into the filling, explains the techniques that change the taste, and shows you how to cut and chop properly. After everything is cooked, you eat the dumplings you made.

This is not a demonstration where you watch from a stool. You handle the dough, make the filling, and learn the hand movements that matter. The recipes come from the instructor's family and have been made the same way for generations. Coffee and tea are included.
