The Experience

I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect to laugh that hard at the Luxor. We’d just found our seats—kind of sticky from spilled soda, but that’s Vegas—and the lights dropped so fast it made me blink. Then Carrot Top burst onto stage like a firecracker, dragging this trunk full of weird props. He shouted something about TikTok and I nearly spit out my drink. The crowd was already howling, and it wasn’t even five minutes in.

Our tickets got us pretty close (I could actually see the sweat on his forehead), and he kept tossing jokes about everything—celebrities, politics, stuff only people who’ve survived a few Las Vegas nights would get. There was this moment when he pulled out a prop shaped like a slot machine and everyone lost it. The guy next to me—local, I think, judging by his Raiders cap—was wiping tears away. Even the ushers were grinning in the back.

Between the lights flashing and all those streamer cannons (seriously, there’s confetti everywhere), I almost missed some of his quick one-liners. He riffed off people in the front row too—one poor woman tried to hide behind her husband but he spotted her anyway. It felt less like a big show and more like being swept up in someone else’s ridiculous living room party…with 1,000 other people.

By the end I had this ache in my cheeks from laughing so much. You walk out into that casino noise again and for a second you’re still hearing his voice echoing inside your head. Not sure what I expected from a night with Carrot Top at Luxor—but yeah, it’s one of those Las Vegas things that sticks with you.
