The Experience

Somebody’s already cracking jokes before we even find our seats at the V Theater — I can hear it from the hallway, that low hum of voices and sudden bursts of laughter. The place is tucked inside Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops, so we’d wandered past neon signs and perfume counters first (the smell still clings to my jacket). Our tickets got us a drink at the bar — mine was stronger than expected, which helped because I always get a bit nervous before live comedy. Not sure why, maybe it’s the feeling you might get called out from the crowd.

The lineup for the Big Black Comedy Show changes every night, but tonight there were three comics, each funnier than the last.
