The experience

The tour starts with a pickup in Denver and heads west into the foothills. You drive the scenic route into Red Rocks Park, where massive rock formations frame one of the world's most recognizable music venues. The amphitheatre sits in a natural bowl carved by erosion, and the tour gives you time to explore the grounds and take in how the landscape itself becomes the stage.

From Red Rocks, the route climbs to Lookout Mountain, where the view opens across downtown Denver to the east and the Rocky Mountains to the west. This summit was a vantage point for the Ute tribe, and it's also where Buffalo Bill is buried. An optional walk takes you to his grave site at the Buffalo Bill Museum. The drive down follows part of the National Scenic Byway into Golden, with views rolling across the Rockies and out toward the plains. In Golden itself, you stop in the town center along Clear Creek.
