You’ll join a small group in Denver for a guided hiking tour into Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, passing famous spots like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Dinosaur Ridge before hitting scenic trails. experience

What’s the experience like?

I didn’t expect to start my day in Denver sipping coffee inside a place called Nest at Nurture — it smelled like cinnamon and eucalyptus, and I was still half-awake. Our guide, Jamie, was already chatting with someone about weather apps and trail shoes. She seemed to know every shortcut out of the city, pointing out Meow Wolf’s crazy building (looked like a spaceship) as we drove by. We passed Empower Field too — I’m not much for football but it made me think of those roaring crowds, which felt far away once we hit Morrison and its old shops with faded signs.

Jamie told us about dinosaur fossils near Dinosaur Ridge — apparently Colorado used to be full of them. The air changed as we got closer to the foothills; cooler, piney, almost sharp. We caught glimpses of Red Rocks Amphitheatre glowing red in the morning light. There was this moment when she pulled over so we could see Mount Evans and Mount Bierstadt off in the distance — both still dusted with snow even though it was spring. I tried to take a photo but honestly, it never looks the same as standing there in person.

The actual hike was easier than I feared (I’m not exactly an athlete), but there were breaks for snacks and water whenever someone needed them. Jamie pointed out local plants — some you can eat, some you definitely shouldn’t — and laughed when I mixed up spruce and fir needles (they do taste different). Sometimes we’d just walk quietly, listening to wind in the trees or spotting a chipmunk darting across the path. At the top, looking down at Kittridge and Evergreen from way up high, everything felt kind of small and calm. I still think about that view when I need a mental reset.
