The experience
Your guide picks the ski area based on that day's snow and wind conditions, so you're always on the best terrain Grand Teton has to offer. The Naturalist Guides here have science backgrounds and years of experience interpreting the flora, fauna, and geology you'll move through, so the skiing instruction comes wrapped in context about the ecosystem itself. You'll meet at the downtown Jackson location and get driven to the trailhead, which means no navigating to a remote parking lot on your own.
The 4-hour session is built around teaching moments. You'll learn cross-country skiing technique at a pace where you can talk and stop for photos without feeling rushed. The activity level is leisure, which means the focus is on building confidence on skis and understanding how the landscape changes in winter, not covering distance. Bottled water, snacks, and coffee or tea come along, so you're fueled through the morning.
Skis and boots aren't included, but the operator will direct you to local rental shops after you book. The Grand Teton entrance fee ($20 per person, valid for 7 days) is separate. Bring an existing pass if you have one. Gratuity for your guide is not included in the tour price.
