The experience

You operate the UTV yourself on this 4-hour adventure, which means you control the pace and handle the terrain. The route starts with a 25-minute drive from the shop to reach the trailhead, then 50 minutes of paved road through the Scenic national forest. Once on the trail, you descend from 9,000 feet elevation on rocky terrain that winds through towering pines, past a large gorge and the historic Duchesne Tunnel, before reaching Little Deer Creek Falls where mountain water cascades down. The descent is one of the few trails in the Uintas that actually goes down the mountainside rather than climbing it.

After the falls, the route continues to a backcountry lake surrounded by a mountain wall: a rocky ride that rewards the technical driving you've already done. The UTV comes equipped with Rockford Fosgate audio (Bluetooth or USB), a digital map with recommendations, helmet and goggles, and a cooler. Fuel is included, and you get a neck buff for protection. The vehicle is insured with a premium damage waiver covering up to $1,500 out of pocket, so you can ride without worrying about minor impacts. Cleaning is included at the end, no matter how much dirt you accumulate.

Before you book, you'll need to complete the Utah OHV course, a requirement for all drivers, and sign the waiver. This is a self-guided experience, so you navigate using the digital map rather than following a guide, which gives you freedom to stop and explore at your own pace.
