Step-by-step itinerary
UTV off-road adventure in Uinta Mountains
- Drive UTV through mountain terrain
- Cross creeks and rocky areas
- Enjoy views of lakes and waterfalls
- Optionally swim in cold lakes
The experience
The Uinta Mountains fill with lakes, waterfalls and rugged rocky areas that change with the season. In summer and fall, the forest routes open up. In winter and spring, the desert terrain takes over. Your group gets a private route with no other riders sharing the trail, and the Can-Am UTVs come equipped with Rugged Radios so everyone stays connected via Bluetooth. You can even play music through the system while you ride. The terrain itself varies: some stretches are smooth enough to cruise, others demand navigation through creek crossings and rocky sections, and if the water temperature doesn't scare you off, you can stop to swim in the lakes along the way.
You choose between a 2-seater or 4-seater Can-Am depending on your group size, and the machine is yours to operate for the full three hours. A live guide leads the route and handles the navigation so you focus on driving. The tour covers the greater Park City area and nearby Heber and Kamas, with the guide adjusting the specific route based on conditions and what your group wants to see. Bring a valid driver's license. That's the only requirement to get behind the wheel.

Is this one for you?Choose the 4-seater if your group includes people who want to ride along without driving. The 2-seater works for smaller groups or if everyone wants seat time behind the wheel. The private format means no strangers on the trail and no waiting for other groups to clear the terrain.

Top questions
Do I need off-roading experience to ride a UTV in the Uinta Mountains?
No prior experience is required. The guide leads the route and adjusts the terrain difficulty to match your group's comfort level. You need a valid driver's license and must be at least 18 years old to operate the machine.
What's the difference between the summer and winter routes?
June through October, the tour runs through the forest with lakes, waterfalls and mountain views. November through May, the route shifts to the desert terrain. Both offer rugged riding and scenic stops.
Can passengers ride along if they don't want to drive?
Yes. Passengers can ride in the 4-seater UTV with no age limit. Only the driver needs to be 18 and hold a valid driver's license.
What happens if I want to swim in the lakes?
The route passes lakes where you can stop and swim if you choose. The water is cold, so it's optional, but the guide can work it into the itinerary if your group wants to take a dip.
How does the private tour work with a guide?
Your group rides alone on the trail with a live guide who leads the route, handles navigation and communicates with everyone via the Rugged Radios system. No other riders share your experience.
