The Experience

The moment you step through the entrance at City Walk, you hear it before you see it — the sound of water moving, the calls of birds echoing off glass, the hum of a living ecosystem that shouldn't exist in the middle of the desert. The Green Planet is a bio-dome, four levels tall, and it's designed to feel like you've walked straight into a tropical rainforest without leaving Dubai. The air shifts. It gets warmer, thicker, alive with the smell of soil and growing things. That's when you realize this isn't a typical zoo or aquarium — it's an enclosed world where the plants, animals and waterfalls are all part of one working system.

The structure moves you through four distinct zones, each one revealing a different layer of how a rainforest actually functions. You start at the Canopy, where the tallest trees live and the light comes from above. Then down to the Midstory, where most of the animal activity happens — sloths, toucans, tree porcupines, reptiles. The Forest Floor comes next, closer to the ground where insects and smaller creatures do their work. And finally the Flooded Rainforest, where the water level rises and you see how the ecosystem adapts when rain comes. Your entry ticket covers all four levels, so you move through them at your own pace. There's no rush, no guide telling you what to look at. You just walk and watch and let the place teach you.
