If you want to try something wild in Dubai, this flyboard session is pure fun. You’ll learn fast with friendly instructors and get to soar above warm waters—plus, they snap photos so you can relive your best moments.
The first time I strapped on the flyboard, my heart was thumping louder than the jet ski engines nearby. The water here in Dubai never really cools down—even in winter, it’s got that bathwater feel. Our instructor, Khaled, gave us a quick rundown right on the dock, cracking a joke about how everyone falls at least once. He wasn’t wrong. The helmet felt snug but reassuring, and honestly, I was glad for the life jacket—just in case.
Once you’re out there, it’s just you and the board. The jets kick in under your feet and suddenly you’re rising—awkward at first, then almost weightless. I could hear kids laughing from a nearby banana boat ride and caught a whiff of sunscreen drifting over from the beach club next door. Khaled kept shouting tips over the water (“Bend your knees! Look ahead!”), and after a few wobbles, I managed to hover long enough to see the Burj Al Arab glinting in the distance. There’s nothing quite like that rush when you finally get it right—even if you do faceplant once or twice.
